Often overlooked, but one of the smartest little accessories:
The male to male cigarette cord allows you to connect a JuiceBox G2 Portable Solar Generator to a vehicle. If the vehicle has a dead battery, let the JuiceBox G2 charge the battery for at least a few minutes, then start up! If the JuiceBox G2 needs a charge, the same cable works in reverse, and your vehicle can charge the JuiceBox G2.
I have used this exact product many times, and have been very happy with the quality. It is nice, thick wire and the plugs themselves are heavy duty, tough enough to tolerate getting stepped on or beat up a bit… It is important to note that this cable is NOT fuse-protected. This allows the potentially higher-amperage draw (like from a dead vehicle battery) to occur without blowing a fuse.

Sometimes, moving some air (even a little) can be very important. A breeze on your face can make the difference in getting restful sleep, it can stop condensation in a tent, or move warm air from a heat source to the rest of a room. A small fan can also keep HAM gear or other electronics from overheating. I originally bought a few of these at a big box store, simply because they were so cheap and I was curious. As it turns out, they work surprisingly well, draw very little power, and the gooseneck is a perfect way to make it point where you want.Stay cool, hook one to your JuiceBox Portable Solar Generator.
We actually use these in our shop. Every bench has one, and our technicians use this exact fan to test USB circuits as the JuiceBox G2 Portable Solar Generator is being built. As you can imagine, they get a workout. After three years, we have only broken two of them. Surprising quality for what almost appears to be a toy. Amazon link below:
How long does it take to charge the G2 with the 27 watt solar panel?
About 8 hours in full sun, dead to full.
I visited your booth today (10-22) at the Chattanooga Ham fest. Very impressed with the Juicebox G2 and other products you offer. Please add me to your email list.
Thanks, Bill
Thanks Bill!
Sir i met you in Chatanooga through Eric Williams who is the proud owner of Be Ready Solar. Can i place my order now? Yes i will give you as long as you need to build it so that i know i am getting the most reliable product in the world. Yes i would like the Juice Box G2.
Since I bought the G2– How much for the dog?
You would have to ask her, but she seems happy with her current arrangement as part of our homestead defense brigade.
Thank you! I just purchased a simple Anderson Power Pole to Battery Clamps cable. It arrived in a few short days, and I have to tell you, I am impressed. Yes, it’s a pretty simply item, but the quality and attention to detail is top-notch. A quality cable, shrink wrapped in all the right spots, and an awesome Velcro cord wrap. You folks are a class act! I’ll be back.

Love the product, any plans for a 220v version for those not lucky enough to be in the US?
10 amps each.
re:the 12v automotive style plugs……..what is the amp draw rating?
I love my Juice Box. This little portable device packs a mean punch and the solar panel rocks. You have to always use the solar panel with the juice box to restore the power that you use to power your portable devices. i will be getting a bigger model when you come out with another one. American built is what a like about the product and reliable it is. KF4ZUN signing out. 73ssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Bill,
I own several of your BatPacs and the QRP Ranger. Absolutely love them. They have performed flawlessly in the field. Hours of operating on HF-VHF-UHF with a 28 watt solar panel. Never ran out of power no matter which source I used. My favorite is the QRP Ranger. It is the Shiznit!! I am a preparedness individual and your products are spot on for that cause. IMHO, any of your alternative power products, a solar panel of at least 28 watts, and the Yaesu FT-817, or a reasonable facsimile, are the prefect prepper comms combo. As long as I get sun every couple of days, my comms will always be up! I have used them while camping and during my travels to and from San Diego and our new home in Star Valley Ranch, WY. Just purchased the Accessory Bundle as it a great price for all the USB and power options I am using. Thanks again for the great products and keep up the good work.
BUY USA !
Hope to catch you on the air. 73s, Bill – KK6WLS
The screenshot above shows 2 sealed lead acid batteries, but the description says it has 2 AGM’s. So which is it, since AGM’s would provide a better power density and longer life than a simple SLA battery
The screenshot shows AGM batteries. They are Absorbed Glass Mat, VRLA, Sealed Lead-Acid.
A couple of questions on the JuiceBox g2. Would a powerfilm F15-1200 (folded up) fit into the solar panel cubby? Also, could you make a custom connector to allow my powerfilm panel to connect to the charge controller? I would gladly pay for the connector.
Sorry, the questions were for the juicebox g2 no the operator.
CW,
I think that the PowerFilm panel you mention would fit… I do not have one to test, but the published dimensions look like they are within the size of the cubby.
Regarding a cable, no problem. PowerFilm uses the Delphi WeatherPack style connectors, and we can make that cable for you very reasonably.
I bought a G2 bundle a while back that didn’t include the 5.5 pin x 2.1 pin extension cord that goes between the solar panel and the G2. How can I get one of these.
Bill,
Sorry for the omission! Cable is in the mail. You should have tracking. 😉
I’ve owned my G2 for a while now, mainly using the PowerPole connectors and occasionally the 110AC. I went to use the 12VDC sockets to charge a 2 meter handheld radio during Hurricane Harvey and they didn’t work. I got to checking and found the ground wires connected to a bus bar and a hot red wire cross connection between the sockets, but no hot wire power supply connected to the sockets. What are my options? I also need cable to connect to a Powerfilm panel. Thanks.
I really love this beast.
This looks like something EVERYONE could use and should have I learned about you through Tin Hat Ranch. I am interested in your new version of the juice box. I, like you am willing to go with the optional solar panels. the are cheaper, and not that much of a bother to me, and they pack a bigger payload to boot.
We got the juicebox for my wife cause she needs an oxygen concentrator. I had no idea what it really would mean for us. I was worried about power outages, but now we are car camping. Never even thought we could. The kids are loving it. thank you so much. The solar panel made all the difference three weeks ago at the natiaonal park, because we could not get a hook up but we could still run lights and a fan and a radio.
