Rugged, refined, reliable.
Everything you need to run your Hero3 or Hero3+ (Black, White, or Silver) for as long as you want, from any USB source!
The LongShot uses a Battery Eliminator that occupies the GoPro battery compartment. The Eliminator snaps right into the camera like a regular battery.
Installation is as easy as inserting the Battery Eliminator and swinging the door closed. Power is delivered exactly how the GoPro Engineers intend: Via the camera’s own battery contacts.
The LongShot G3 ‘SD’ is our ‘Standard Duty’ system. This means that even though your camera and the LongShot are waterproof, the connection to your power source is not. You can expose the camera to the elements, even run it underwater, but the USB connection to your power source needs to be protected from moisture. If you want to power your camera in harsh environments, with a flexible connection to a boat, plane, or other vehicle, consider our HD version, HERE.

Our system does not use the camera’s USB port to deliver power. The USB, for a variety of reasons, is a poor choice for powering the camera. Thousands of users have discovered this fact, much to their dismay, after losing footage or overheating their camera.
In-vehicle cameras are becoming very popular. Having a secure method of recording your travels can be incredibly valuable. From establishing ‘fault’ in insurance cases, to unexpected once-in-a-lifetime events, to interactions with officials, a reliable recording system can pay for itself in a few seconds. The LongShot SD is ideal for this application. Mounted on your dash, powered from a cigarette socket USB adapter, and controlled from a smartphone, this system is an awesome way to be sure you don’t miss a thing.

Question: What if I want to be totally portable? Like run my GoPro all day long on a hike or something?
It’s easy! Use any USB battery that can supply at least 1 amp (most do). Simply plug the LongShot into the USB port and you are ready to shoot. There are many good ones that are inexpensive and durable. We like ZeroLemon, for example:
This battery has about 15 times the energy of the standard GoPro battery… so take whatever run-time you get from your existing GoPro and multiply by 15! You can slip this battery into a pocket and shoot all day long, easily.
Question: What if I want to run my GoPro in my vehicle to record my travels?
No problem. Just plug the supplied cigarette adapter into your vehicle. The 5 foot cord will easily reach your dash.
I drive a big rig, or an RV, and need a longer cable. What do I do?
Pick up a USB extender cable, like this one, for about $5.
If you need to run longer distances, like 30 feet, you can get an ‘active’ USB cable like the one shown at right:
You might also consider our LongShot HD, which can handle very long power runs of up to 100 feet. We can make a custom cable for you or explain to you what to do…
I fly an airplane and need a vibration resistant connection for aerial photography will this work?
A better choice is our LongShot HD, which has a longer cable and ring terminals for a solid connection directly to the 24 volt electrical system. See it HERE.
